Singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has berated Nigerian pastors over their continued silence in the face of the alleged Christian genocide in the country.
According to reports, a fresh attack on Christians on Palm Sunday in Jos, Plateau State, by suspected jihadist militia has sparked renewed outrage over alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria, an allegation the Federal Government has debunked.
Reacting to the recent attack in Jos, Portable accused Nigerian pastors of hypocrisy, claiming that they prioritise their personal safety while failing to speak up when their members are being killed.
He questioned why religious leaders have not taken action, including organising protests, despite recurring attacks on Christians in parts of the country.
Portable also suggested that Islamic clerics would respond differently if Muslims were subjected to similar attacks, noting that such incidents would likely provoke stronger reactions.
The singer stated that Nigerian pastors use bulletproof vehicles for protection but have not shown the same level of urgency in defending their followers, adding that he expected them to lead protests to demand action from the government.
