A woman identified as Joy Aondohemba Alia has reportedly died after collapsing during a church service in Benue State.
The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
A Facebook user, Agbaso Solomon Igba, who confirmed the incident, identified the deceased as the wife of Mr. Isaac Aondohemba Alia, younger brother of Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
Another Facebook user, Akpen Denen, said he rushed the woman to a teaching hospital after she collapsed during the church service.
He explained that he initially thought she had fallen under the influence of the church’s anointing, but doctors later confirmed that she had died before arriving at the hospital.
Denen described the development as shocking and heartbreaking, saying he accepted it as the will of God and prayed for the peaceful repose of Joy Aondohemba Alia’s soul.
