Nigerian stand-up comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma, has expressed support for divorce in situations where marriages become unhealthy, saying it is better for couples to separate than remain in relationships that make them unhappy.

The comedian, however, clarified that his position should not be seen as an attempt to downplay the challenges and responsibilities that come with marriage.
Reflecting on his personal life, Bovi disclosed that his 17-year marriage has experienced its share of difficulties despite enduring over the years.
He noted that he got married at the age of 29 and has consistently shouldered the responsibility of providing for his family throughout the marriage.
Bovi also addressed the traditional expectation that men should be the primary providers in their homes, while encouraging women to pursue their ambitions and achieve financial independence.
He stated that women who are motivated to contribute financially to their households deserve recognition and appreciation for their efforts.
According to him, a woman’s contribution to the family should be respected and valued when it is driven by passion and a desire to support the home.
