Popular Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, has admitted to engaging in traditional spiritual practices to support his music career, stating that his actions are harmless and focused on personal advancement.
Osupa made the disclosure during a performance at the 52nd anniversary celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua held on March 30, 2026.
He dismissed calls from some quarters urging him to deny being involved in such practices, maintaining that he had never used them to harm anyone or engage in wrongdoing, but rather to pursue progress in his career.
The singer further explained that his spiritual routine forms part of his daily life, noting that he consistently pays obeisance to Ifa as part of his personal beliefs.
He also argued that many people engage in similar practices privately, while he has chosen to be open about his, adding that claims suggesting he relies solely on religious texts like the Bible or Quran are not accurate.
In video clips currently circulating online, Osupa was seen advising his backup singers to adopt similar practices, which he described as beneficial for improving memory and stage performance, while stressing that such rituals are meant for well-being and should not be misconstrued as fetish practices.
