A mild drama unfolded on Channels Television on Thursday, April 9, as former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, was compelled to apologise to anchor Kayode OkikiOlu during a live interview.
The situation began when the anchor questioned Nwosu over his earlier claim that he was offered three ministerial slots to prevent a political coalition from materialising.
It would be recalled that the coalition groups adopted the ADC in July 2025 with the aim of presenting a candidate to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Nwosu had previously alleged that certain individuals approached him with offers to stop the party from aligning with the coalition.
During the live interview, he was asked to disclose the identities of those who allegedly made the offer, but he declined to provide any names.
He instead accused the anchor of acting on behalf of undisclosed persons, claiming that the question was prompted by a message sent to him.
The interview took a turn at that point, as Nwosu was asked to retract the allegation after failing to provide evidence to support his claim, leading to an on-air apology.
