Popular Nigerian musician, Burna Boy, has challenged fellow artiste Wizkid to a physical confrontation.
The development comes hours after Wizkid accused Burna Boy and his associates of assaulting his disc jockey, DJ Tunez, at a Lagos nightclub on Monday night over alleged refusal to play his songs.
Burna Boy had earlier reacted by claiming sole responsibility for the assault, denying reports that he acted with a group.
In a viral video, the Grammy-winning singer criticised Wizkid’s response to the incident, alleging that the singer relied on social media rather than taking real-life action. He expressed disappointment that Wizkid did not directly intervene or respond beyond online comments.
Burna Boy also dismissed claims that he attacked DJ Tunez alongside 10 other individuals, insisting that he acted alone during the altercation.
Speaking during a livestream with Shallipopi on Wednesday night, he maintained that no one else was involved in the incident and admitted to physically confronting the DJ.
He further stated that if multiple people had been involved, the outcome would have been more severe, suggesting that DJ Tunez would have sustained serious injuries.
The singer added that he remained at the club for several hours after the incident, expecting a possible retaliation, but none occurred. Instead, he claimed that DJ Tunez later took to social media to express his grievances.
Burna Boy also alleged that DJ Tunez was not alone at the venue, but that those with him fled upon noticing his presence.
