Afrobeats singer Davido has expressed outrage over a viral video showing a brutal bullying incident involving students of Igbinedion Secondary School in Edo State.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, reacted on X on Sunday, condemning the act in strong terms.
“Fuckin animals… so disgusting,” he wrote in response to the footage circulating online.
The video shows two male students repeatedly assaulting a fellow student who had fallen to the ground.
At one point, one of the attackers drags the victim by his school uniform and stomps on his chest and head while the boy cries out in pain.
A third student who was recording the incident is heard pleading with the attackers to stop.
The disturbing footage triggered widespread outrage on social media, prompting swift action from the school authorities.
The management of Igbinedion Secondary School subsequently expelled the students involved in the assault, while the student who recorded the incident was suspended.
In addition, the Edo State Police Command confirmed that the students involved in the bullying had been expelled, while the student who filmed the incident had been suspended.
Police spokesperson Eno Ikioyedem said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, had directed the Divisional Police Officer in the area to conduct a full investigation into the incident.
The command also condemned acts of bullying, violence and intimidation among students, warning that anyone found responsible would face legal consequences.
