…..calls on CP, DSS, NSCDC to act
A group under the auspices of the Osogbo Youth Emancipation Team (OYET) has called on the Commissioner of Police, the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to take urgent steps to prevent a breakdown of law and order allegedly being orchestrated by Mrs. Busari Mistura, Mr. Lekan Alabi, Mr. Lawrence Dada (popularly known as De-Law), and Mr. Najeem Popoola, who is reportedly presenting himself as the head of their family.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 22, 2026, in Osogbo and made available to the press, the group described Osogbo as a peaceful town with no history of land-grabbing activities until the recent actions allegedly carried out by the aforementioned individuals on a parcel of land belonging to the late Alhaji Gafaru Salami Atere, popularly known as Sominie, located off Ikirun Road, Osogbo, Osun State.
According to the statement, the individuals forcefully entered the land situated at Ajewole Area along Ikirun Road, Osogbo, measuring approximately 2,736.454 square metres.
The President of the group, Comrade Temitayo Waheed Adeagbo, stated:
“Our findings revealed that these individuals relied on a Writ of Possession issued on February 26, 2025, in Suit No. HIS/M.206/2024. However, the execution of the writ was stayed on June 3, 2025, by Hon. Justice S.A. Oke of the Osun State High Court.
Furthermore, on September 17, 2025, Hon. Justice A.O. Oyebiyi of the Osun State High Court set aside the Writ of Possession issued on February 26, 2025, and ruled that all parties must be given a fair hearing.
Despite these court orders, which effectively nullified the basis upon which they initially entered the land, Mrs. Busari and her associates have allegedly continued to use thugs to intimidate and threaten the lives of Mr. Salami and other concerned persons.”
The group noted that, as a progressive association committed to the development and peaceful coexistence of residents, it would not tolerate any attempt to encourage or protect the activities of alleged land grabbers in Osogbo.
“Osogbo has long been known as a peaceful town with no record of such unlawful activities. We must collectively resist any attempt to introduce lawlessness into our community,” the statement added.
The group further disclosed that information available to it indicated that Mr. Najeem Popoola was once associated with a notorious land grabber, the late Fatai Agbaje.
OYET reiterated that its primary concern is the development, peace, and stability of Osogbo and commended the swift intervention of the NSCDC in preventing a possible breakdown of law and order in the area.
The group also called on security agencies to ensure the prosecution of the individual allegedly apprehended while destroying existing structures on the disputed land.
The statement further alleged that certain individuals have penetrated the state’s security architecture, claiming that some police officers which we will not hesitate to mention their names in our next press conference has been acting in support of the alleged land grabbers.
According to the group, these officers has allegedly made several attempts to intervene in matters that are outside their official responsibilities and jurisdiction.
“We urge all relevant security agencies to act decisively and ensure that the rule of law prevails. No individual should be allowed to take the law into their own hands or undermine valid court processes,” the statement concluded.
