Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has suggested that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State may need a miracle or magic to avoid defeat in Saturday’s governorship election.
Sani attributed his prediction to what he described as a divided opposition in the state, while maintaining that the All Progressives Congress is united and strong.
The former lawmaker made the remarks in a post on X on Thursday, where he also pointed to the role of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who is the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the Osun governorship election.
Sani said the political composition of the opposition, particularly the African Democratic Congress, had created an advantage for the APC ahead of the poll.
He described many ADC members in the state as having strong political roots in the APC and argued that, without an unexpected intervention, Adeleke would struggle to retain the governorship.
Sani said Uzodinma would help the APC secure victory and reclaim Osun State for the party.
The APC is fielding Bola Oyebamiji as its governorship candidate in Saturday’s election, while Adeleke, who is seeking a second term on the platform of the Accord Party, is seeking re-election.
Adeleke has expressed confidence in securing another term in office, while several APC chieftains have continued to predict his defeat at the polls.
