A fire outbreak on Sunday engulfed part of a building in the Old Garage area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
According to Osogbo-based blog Inside Osogbo, the incident prompted an emergency response from firefighters and other rescue personnel, who were seen battling to contain the inferno.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained, while emergency responders continued efforts to prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and businesses.
It was gathered that two filling stations are located very close to the scene of the incident, raising fears that the situation could escalate if the fire reaches either of the facilities.
The platform advised motorists to use alternative routes to ease the movement of fire service vehicles and other emergency responders deployed to the area.
AMILOADED gathered that more than two hours after the outbreak, the fire was still burning despite ongoing efforts by personnel of the Federal Fire Service, Osun State Fire Service, and other emergency agencies.
No casualties had been officially confirmed as of press time, while the extent of the damage caused by the incident remained unclear.
