A group within the Osun state chapter of Accord Party under the aegis of Concerned Accord Foundation Members, CAFM, has eulogised Governor Ademola Adeleke for saving the party from total collapse under the leadership of Pastor Victor Akande.
They described a recent release by the Adeleke’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, where he described Hon. Sunday Bisi as the ‘General Chairman of Accord/PDP’ as a right step in right direction.
In a release signed by CAFM Director-General, Engr Ambaliyu Amoo, they said Olawale’s statement showed clearly that Akande is ineffective and can at best be called a figure-head chairman.
Amoo said, ‘Since Governor Adeleke adopted our party as a platform under which he would contest, Akande has turned himself to a mini-god.
“He disrespects the party elders and hierarchy at will. No member of Accord Party has a say in the running of the party affairs as he takes decision as if we are running a one man party system.
‘His pride affected us even during our Primary elections, every single position was ultimately allocated to defectors from the PDP, leaving no elective position for those who had laboured for Accord Party in Osun for years.
‘He lacks negotiating power. Those candidates that have represented us at different levels on the past polls were jettisoned as if they were second fiddle and Akande could not do anything.
‘Now, that the government has introduced Sunday Bisi, the present Osun PDP chairman as the person that will be paddling the affairs of our party and his own party, we hope to have a fresh breathe.
‘We hope that our opinions will start counting. An individual will not be cornering what is meant for the party members. Once again, we say, thank you, Mr Governor and we promise our unflinching support for your second term ambition.’
