One of the teachers abducted from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, identified as Michael Oyedokun, has reportedly been killed by his captors.
Reports indicated that armed men stormed the school on Friday, May 15, abducting the principal, several teachers, and some students during the attack.
The incident came weeks after an attempted abduction along the Ibadan-Ijebu road, which reportedly claimed the life of a traveller, further heightening fears over worsening insecurity in parts of the state and the country.
Tension, however, escalated on Sunday, May 17, 2026, after a disturbing video allegedly released by the abductors surfaced online, showing the killing of Oyedokun.
The viral footage has sparked outrage and renewed anxiety over the fate and safety of the remaining victims still being held captive.
The development has also plunged the affected community into mourning, with residents, families of the abducted persons, and indigenes urging security agencies and the Oyo State Government to intensify efforts to rescue those still in captivity before more lives are lost.
