Chief Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, popularly known as APATA, has formally obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial nomination form for Osun West Senatorial District.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by his Media and Communications Office.
Ogundeji picked up the form in Abuja,.marking what his camp described as a renewed step in his already declared ambition to contest for the Senate seat.
Speaking after securing the form, Ogundeji expressed confidence in clinching the party’s ticket, saying his years of involvement in party activities and grassroots engagement give him an advantage.
He said the APC remains a platform that supports young and committed leaders, adding that his ambition is driven by a desire to provide effective representation for the people of Osun West.
The senatorial hopeful also described himself as one of the younger aspirants in the race, noting that his loyalty to the party has remained consistent over the years.
Ogundeji said his campaign would focus on development, inclusiveness, and responsive leadership tailored to the needs of constituents.
He also reaffirmed his support for the APC governorship ticket, pledging commitment to the candidacy of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and his running mate, Aare Benjamin Kayode Adereti, ahead of the forthcoming election.
According to him, party unity remains critical to electoral success, urging members to work together to secure victory for the APC at all levels.
Part of the statement reads, “I am confident that I will emerge as the candidate of our great party,” he said, noting that his track record of loyalty and grassroots engagement places him in a favourable position.
“Our party is youth-loving and forward-looking. It understands the need to allow vibrant and committed young leaders to serve and make a difference.
“I should be among the youngest aspirants in this race, yet my level of commitment to the cause of our party has been unwavering over the years,
“Even as I pursue my senatorial ambition, I remain fully committed to ensuring the emergence of our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and his running mate, Aare Benjamin Kayode Adereti, in the 15 August election”
In his reaction, a prominent supporter and stakeholder, Dr. Adeoye Adebisi, said Ogundeji’s entry into the race introduces a youthful dimension to the contest, noting that his grassroots appeal could influence younger voters across the senatorial district.
