The All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State chapter, has said any leader of the party who loses their polling unit, ward or constituency in the 2027 election will not be qualified for appointments from the Federal Government.
The Chairman of the APC in Abia State, Chijioke Chukwu, made this known on Sunday at the party secretariat in Umuahia during a post-primary election reconciliation meeting.
He said the party would closely monitor the performance of its members during the 2027 elections to assess their commitment and dedication.
Chukwu said the results from the polling units, wards and constituencies of all APC leaders and stakeholders would be published immediately after the elections for the party’s national leadership to assess their performance.
The APC chairman called for unity, focus and a sustained strategy to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in Abia State.
He also warned the party’s House of Assembly candidates and other stakeholders against trading the interests of the APC for those of another political party.
Chukwu said the party was working on a system where members would be rewarded based on their performance during the election.
He said anyone who had contacts in Abuja but failed to win their polling unit, ward and constituency should not expect to be appointed a minister or federal commissioner.
The chairman said the party would publish the polling units of all its leaders and stakeholders immediately after the election, adding that members who could not win their polling units, wards and constituencies would not qualify for federal appointments.
He said things must change and that the party must follow a new order.
Responding to the charge, an APC member, Sam Anya, said a structure had been put in place in Ohafia to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in the state.
Meanwhile, the APC chairman has inaugurated a peace committee headed by Madukwe Ukaegbu to reconcile all members of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
