…Gets second-term endorsement
The lawmaker representing Ayedire State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Elisha Oderinwale, has empowered constituents with equipment and cash grants valued at about N100 million.
The empowerment programme was held in Ileogbo on Thursday, with over 400 beneficiaries in attendance, including 100 individuals who received cash grants to support their businesses.
Oderinwale was also endorsed by political stakeholders in the constituency, who stated that he has done well and deserves continuity on the platform of the Accord Party.
Items distributed at the event included refrigerators, sewing machines, industrial machines, standing fans, grinding machines, vulcanising machines, gas cylinders, insecticide sprayers, generators, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, Tablets for students, motorcycles, mobile phones and other materials.
Speaking at the event, Adeleke’s Campaign Council Director- General, Senator Lere Oyewumi said the initiative reflects a people-centred approach to governance and service delivery.
He noted that the scale of the empowerment was uncommon among lawmakers, adding that it demonstrated commitment to improving the welfare of constituents.
Oyewumi stated that effective representation requires delivering tangible benefits to the people, stressing that public office holders must remain accountable to those who elected them.
He also linked the success of such initiatives to the support of the state government under Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that funding and policy backing play key roles in enabling constituency projects.
Oyewumi said, “We must thank the governor who made funds available for him to actualise his dream. Therefore, both of them deserve our accolades. I am confident that the beneficiaries today will continue to pray for them, and the only prayer politicians truly need is votes.”
The senator urged political actors in the state to conduct their activities peacefully and in line with democratic principles, especially as the governorship election approaches.
In his remarks, the lawmaker , Hon. Elisha Oderinwale said the programme was part of his campaign promises to give back to the people within his first term in office.
He stated that the beneficiaries were carefully selected based on need, adding that the support was meant to improve livelihoods and promote small-scale businesses.
The lawmaker disclosed that Governor Adeleke remains the most popular candidate and that people would vote for him massively in the governorship election.
According to him, “The atmosphere is favourable, and as of today, our governor remains the most popular candidate in the state. If you go to all the nooks and crannies of Osun State, the people still want him, and I can assure you that on August 16, Governor Ademola Adeleke will emerge the clear winner of the governorship election.”
He urged party members and supporters to remain committed, expressing confidence in continued political support within the constituency.
One of the beneficiaries, Tiamiyu Hussein Adedeji, described the initiative as unprecedented in the history of the local government.
He said previous representatives had made efforts, but noted that the scale of the current empowerment stood out.
Another beneficiary, Adeyemo Mudasiru Adeniyi, expressed appreciation for being selected, describing the support as impactful across communities in Ayedire Local Government.
The event attracted political stakeholders, which include Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, community leaders and residents, marking one of the largest empowerment programmes in the constituency in recent times.
