Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday inaugurated his second-term campaign council ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.
The inauguration ceremony was held in Osogbo, the state capital, with party leaders, stakeholders, and loyalists in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke expressed strong confidence in his re-election bid, stating that his campaign team is set for victory in the forthcoming poll.
The governor said the newly inaugurated council would drive the campaign for continuity and sustained delivery of good governance across the state.
He noted that the development marked the beginning of what he described as a renewed push towards electoral success, recalling a similar process that led to his victory in the 2022 governorship election.
Adeleke added that the focus of the campaign would be on consolidating achievements recorded by his administration in key sectors.
According to him, “I am feeling the victory, the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading to victory. My spirit confirms our party, the Accord, is declared the winner with wide margins.
“This is how we started in 2022. Today is the march to victory on August 15th. I hereby inaugurate this Campaign Council to the service of continuity and delivery of good governance”.
Addressing journalists after the inauguration, the Director-General of the campaign council, Senator Lere Oyewumi, said the council would adopt a strategy centred on showcasing the administration’s performance rather than engaging in political attacks.
Oyewumi said the campaign would highlight the government’s achievements in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development to enable voters make informed decisions.
He added that the council would prioritise voter education, particularly on sensitising the electorate to the party’s new platform and logo to avoid voter confusion during the election.
The campaign director-general noted that the strategy would also involve mobilising key demographic groups, including youths, women, and traders, to support the governor’s re-election.
According to him, the council would focus on organisation and grassroots engagement to ensure widespread support across the state.
Members of the campaign council include Prof. Wale Ladipo as Chairman, Barr. Kolapo Alimi as Deputy Director-General, Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson, and Bola Ajao as Secretary, alongside Prince Diran Odeyemi and the Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, among others.
