The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a Chinese national, Peiyuan Niu, wanted over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.
The announcement was contained in a notice issued on Tuesday by the anti-graft agency and signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale.
In the notice, the EFCC informed the public that Niu, 40, is a Chinese citizen whose last known address is located at 111, Kudirat Abiola Way in Oregun area of Lagos.
The commission stated that Niu is being sought in connection with an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence and urged members of the public to assist with any information that could help track him down.
According to the agency, individuals who have useful information about the suspect’s whereabouts are advised to contact any EFCC office nationwide or report to the nearest police station and other security agencies.
The commission listed its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin City, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt and Abuja as contact points.
It also asked anyone with relevant information to reach the commission through its official phone line, 08093322644, or via email at [email protected], or alternatively notify the nearest police station or security agency.
