Chief Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, popularly known as Apata, has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a resignation letter dated July 11, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the APC, Ward 6, Ola, Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, Ogundeji said his resignation takes immediate effect.
The former aspirant said his decision followed deep personal reflection and extensive consultations, noting that although it was not an easy one, he believed it was in the overall interest of his political convictions and future aspirations.
According to the letter, he carefully considered the views, concerns and aspirations of his political associates, supporters and other stakeholders who have stood by him before arriving at the decision.
Ogundeji expressed appreciation for the unwavering loyalty and confidence of his supporters, stating that the move reflects their shared commitment to pursuing their political ideals in an atmosphere of fairness, inclusiveness and mutual respect.
He also thanked the APC for the opportunity to serve, contribute to the growth of the party and work alongside its leaders and members.
The former APC member further expressed gratitude for the relationships he built and the valuable experiences he gained during his membership of the party.
He urged the party to accept the letter as his formal notice of resignation from the All Progressives Congress.
