Nollywood actress has shared her opinion on the role of finances in relationships and marriage.
The movie star said she does not believe that marrying a poor partner can guarantee a woman a fulfilling and comfortable life.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Isime explained that financial difficulties often place immense pressure on couples and can deprive them of the joy associated with marriage and family life.
According to her, challenges such as unpaid rent, inability to meet children’s educational needs, and lack of basic necessities can make it difficult for couples to enjoy a stable and satisfying marriage.
The actress clarified that while love can exist without money, love alone does not automatically translate into a comfortable or fulfilling life.
She therefore advised intending couples to attain a reasonable level of financial stability before getting married and starting a family.
She said “Marriage is not a poverty alleviation scheme but I don’t believe marrying a poor man can make you happy.
“When rent is due, school fees can’t be paid and there is no food in the house, it is difficult to have a fantastic life.
“I am not saying there is no love without money. But love and fantastic life are not the same.”
