The political office of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olalekan Badmus, was reportedly attacked by suspected hoodlums in Osogbo.
Badmus, who serves as the Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), is a prominent APC leader in the state.
The incident was said to have occurred late Tuesday night at his political office located at Beta-Life Junction, Isale-Osun, Osogbo.
Sources said the attackers arrived at the premises in a vehicle at about 11:30 p.m., allegedly armed and with their faces covered.
The assailants reportedly opened fire on the building, leaving behind several spent pellets found within the premises after the attack.
Campaign materials belonging to the APC governorship candidate in Osun, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as well as posters of President Bola Tinubu, were also damaged during the incident.
Windows in the building were shattered, while the popular “Omo Olore” signboard mounted at the office was vandalised.
Speaking on the development in a video seen by Amiloaded on Osogbo Updates Blog, the Secretary of Omoloore House, Isale-Osun, Oladepo Aishat, said she was alerted to the attack by a security personnel attached to the office.
According to her, preliminary reports indicated that the attackers arrived in a Hummer bus and destroyed several items, including chairs, a television set, signposts and campaign billboards.
She added that several bullet shells were recovered from the scene, estimating that between 10 and 12 pellets were found after the attackers had left the premises.
