A former Special Adviser on Education to ex-Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Hon. Jamiu Babatunde Olawumi, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olawumi, who served as Special Adviser on Education during the Oyetola administration between 2019 and 2022, conveyed his decision in a resignation letter dated June 4, 2026.
The letter, addressed to the APC Chairman of Iremo Ward 3 in Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State, Olawumi stated that he had resigned his membership from the APC.
The former aide did not state the reason for his resignation in the letter.
The development adds to the growing list of political realignments being witnessed in Osun State ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official reaction from the APC regarding Olawumi’s resignation.
