The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State on Tuesday unveiled a five-term member of the House of Representatives, Oluwole Oke, as the Director General of its 2026 Governorship Campaign Committee, with a declaration that Governor Ademola Adeleke should begin to prepare to leave office ahead of the election.
The party also announced members of its campaign committee across the three senatorial districts as part of efforts to strengthen mobilisation for the 2026 governorship poll.
Other appointments include former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, as Director General for Osun Central Senatorial District, former governorship aspirant, Prince Dotun Babayemi, for Osun West Senatorial District, and APC stalwart, Thomas Ogungbangbe, for Osun East Senatorial District.
Speaking at the event, Oke expressed gratitude to party leaders for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as an honour.
He stated that his emergence signalled the party’s readiness to reclaim power in the state, adding that the APC was confident of victory in the forthcoming election.
Oke further declared that the party had effectively issued a quit notice to Governor Adeleke, expressing optimism that the APC would unseat the incumbent administration.
He added that the party had a track record of defeating sitting governors and maintained that the current administration would not be an exception.
According to her, “After thanking God, I want to sincerely thank our leaders for considering me worthy. With my appointment, we have issued Governor Ademola Adeleke a quit notice and I assure you that what lies ahead is victory for our party.
“We are specialists at removing a sitting governor. We have done this severally and from this moment, Governor Ademola Adeleke should begin to pack his luggage from Government House.”
In his remarks, the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, called on party members to unite and intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the August 15, 2026 election.
Oyebamiji said the inauguration of the campaign structure marked a significant step toward achieving victory at the polls.
He urged members to align with the campaign structure to ensure effective coordination and grassroots engagement across the state.
The party also announced campaign committee members for the nine federal constituencies, assigning key figures as chairmen, co-chairmen, and secretaries to drive mobilisation at the grassroots level.
The development signals the APC’s renewed push to consolidate its structure and strengthen its chances in the forthcoming governorship election.
