Honourable Lanre Omoleye Oladebo, representing Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan in the National Assembly, has officially joined the Accord Party after receiving his membership card in a ceremony attended by top party officials.
Addressing his constituents during the presentation,Oladebo emphasized that his decision to join the party was deliberate and strategic.
He disclosed that he joined the party on February 25, 2026, adding that the ceremony was organised to formally present him to his ward and issue him his membership card.
Oladebo explained that the event was not only symbolic but also part of his broader grassroots engagement.
He noted that the gathering also served as a form of mobilisation to introduce the new party to the people and encourage them to support his political move.
Oladebo attributed his defection to the performance of Governor Ademola Adeleke, noting that the administration’s achievements motivated his political realignment.
He stated that the governor’s performance and visible achievements across the state influenced his decision to leave his former party and align with the Accord Party.
The Lawmaker commended the Governor’s impact across various sectors, insisting that the state is experiencing visible improvements.
He added that the governor has executed several infrastructural projects, expressing pride in the administration’s achievements.
Oladebo also used the opportunity to raise concerns over the delayed release of local government funds, describing it as a major obstacle to effective governance.
He appealed to relevant authorities to ensure the release of local government funds, noting that the delay is affecting governance in the state.
Despite financial constraints, Omoleye assured constituents of continued development efforts and called for patience as the administration works to overcome challenges.
He assured constituents of continuous engagement and urged them to remain patient, expressing optimism that more progress would be achieved with time.
Oladebo contrasted the current administration with the previous one, insisting that recent achievements speak for themselves.
He maintained that the current administration’s performance has surpassed that of the previous government within a shorter period.
Pastor Victor Akande, the Osun State Accord Chairman, who led the delegation, praised Omoleye’s decision and reaffirmed the party’s readiness to accommodate more supporters.
He stated that the visit was to formally present the membership card to Omoleye in recognition of his new status within the party.
He further encouraged citizens to embrace the party’s digital registration process ahead of the primary election deadline.
He urged members and supporters of the party to register online, noting that digital registration is essential for proper party documentation ahead of the primaries.
Oluranti Hamzat, Women Leader of Apomu Ward 8, also expressed strong support for Omoleye’s move and the Governor’s re-election.
She expressed support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election, urging residents to rally behind him and continue to support his administration.
