Dr Deji Adeleke, elder brother of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has attributed the governor’s victory in the governorship election to the power of God, saying he had no doubt that his brother would emerge victorious.
Deji, a billionaire businessman, spoke during a post-election victory gathering held to celebrate Adeleke’s victory.
He said he prayed every day before the election for God to protect Ademola from evil and preserve his life, going out and coming in.
According to him, he also prayed that God would not allow Ademola to be put to shame because of his faith in God, adding that the governor dances and praises God regardless of what people say.
Deji said he prayed for God to show up for Ademola and defeat those who came against him, regardless of the resources and power they possessed.
He specifically said former Governor Gboyega Oyetola came with arrogance and wickedness, as well as the power he believed he had through his connection to the presidency, but expressed confidence that Ademola would defeat him through the power of God.
Deji said he repeated his prayer that Ademola would defeat his opponents seven times every day, which he attributed to his lack of worry throughout the election period.
He explained that he fortified himself with the power of God every day and, on days when he fasted, repeated the prayer three times a day, noting that he did so privately without discussing it with anyone.
The businessman said he therefore had no doubt that Ademola would win and overcome his opponents, adding that the outcome of the election had vindicated his prayers.
Deji called on supporters to continue celebrating and praising God for what he described as the victory He had given them and for putting their enemies to shame.
