The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is studying the results of the August 15 governorship election across the 332 wards in the state to determine its next line of action.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Osun APC Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, said the party views election as a process that begins with voter registration and party primaries and extends to the election proper, election tribunal, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
The APC maintained that an election could not be regarded as concluded without exploring the constitutionally provided legal opportunities available under the Electoral Act 2026, as amended.
The party commended its members and supporters for their steadfastness, loyalty and contributions throughout the electoral process.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law, fairness and justice, stating that it would not hesitate to explore the legal options available after consultations with its lawyers and based on their professional advice.
The party described the development as part of the democratic process.
The APC consequently urged its members and supporters to remain calm, continue with their businesses and avoid responding to any provocative actions from members of the ruling party across the state.
It also assured its members and supporters that the current situation was not the end of the process, urging them to remain steadfast.
The party further appealed to the Nigeria Police Force to protect its members and supporters who it alleged were being molested by members of the opposition.
The APC assured its members that it would not abandon them, adding that the current political situation in the state was a passing phase that would eventually become part of history.
