Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing him as a “dancing governor” and urging voters in the state to vote him out in the August 15 governorship election.
Speaking at a political gathering in Osogbo on Wednesday, Okpebholo questioned Adeleke’s leadership style, alleging that the Osun governor spends more time dancing than governing the state.
Okpebholo said Osun residents should reject Adeleke’s bid for a second term, arguing that the governor had spent the last four years dancing instead of governing the state. He also linked Adeleke to former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, saying Osun voters should remove Adeleke from office in the same way Obaseki was voted out in Edo State.
The governor’s remarks have sparked widespread reactions on social media, with users expressing divergent opinions over his comments.
Reacting, @PEP_ZSN said Nigerians were more concerned about corruption, incompetence and alleged electoral manipulation than a governor’s dancing style.
