The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has disclosed that he received intelligence alleging that some criminal suspects were being harboured at the Osun State Government House.
Disu made the disclosure on Friday during a meeting with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Government House in Osogbo.
The IGP also revealed that he had received complaints that Governor Adeleke and some other individuals were dissatisfied with the performance of the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.
According to him, he had been informed of the concerns regarding the commissioner and assured the governor that the issues would be addressed individually.
Disu, however, said the Commissioner of Police had equally briefed him that some suspects wanted by the police were allegedly taking refuge inside the Government House.
He questioned why wanted suspects would be allowed to hide in the seat of government if the allegation was true, adding that he had advised the commissioner on the appropriate steps to take in handling the matter.
The IGP further stated that he had also received reports alleging that suspected criminals were being shielded by members of different political parties.
He, however, did not identify the suspects or provide further details regarding the allegations during the meeting.
