A communications expert and entrepreneur, Mr Amao Akinpelu, has been elected as President of the Old Students Association of Isundunrin Community High School, 2001 Set.
Akinpelu emerged alongside other executive members to steer the affairs of the association, with a mandate to strengthen unity among members and contribute to the development of their alma mater.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected president described his emergence as a privilege and an honour, noting that the responsibility to serve both his colleagues and the institution that shaped their lives would be approached with dedication and integrity.
He recalled that about 24 years after leaving the school, members of the set have attained various levels of progress, stressing that the time has come for them to give back to the institution that laid the foundation for their growth.
Akinpelu urged members of the set to work collectively in supporting the school, stating that meaningful impact can only be achieved through unity and shared commitment.
He emphasised that the responsibility of uplifting the alma mater is collective, adding that no individual can achieve such a vision alone without the support of others.
Akinpelu said, “I humbly appeal to every member of our set to join hands so that we can uplift and support our alma mater. This is a collective responsibility; I cannot do it alone. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and leave a lasting legacy.”
The president appreciated the confidence reposed in him by members of the set, as well as the efforts of the nomination committee in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
He also acknowledged the roles played by the Set Senior Prefect, Pastor Alabi Taiwo, and the Set Senior Girl, Rev. Owolabi Bunmi, in fostering unity among members.
Akinpelu commended the National President of the Old Students Association, Otunba Ponle John Ajadi, and his executive members for their contributions towards the development of the school.
He encouraged members of the broader alumni body to sustain the existing momentum and intensify efforts aimed at improving infrastructure and learning conditions in the institution.
Other members of the newly elected executive include Mr Bello Taofeeq as Vice President (Home), Mr Sunmonu Jelili as Secretary, Mrs Ronke Onalade as Financial Secretary, Mr Alimi Semiu as Treasurer, and Pastor Funsho Adegboyega as Public Relations Officer.
