….’90% of Ife votes is for Oyebamiji’ – Adereti
...’We’re going to defeat Adeleke with wide margin’
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Osun West Senatorial aspirant, Chief Peter Ogundeji (APATA), on Monday led a large turnout of party supporters in a “Walk-to-Live” rally in Ikire area of Osun in support of the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji.
The rally, tagged “Ayedaade-Isokan-Irewole Federal Constituency Walk to Live for Ambo 2026,” attracted participants from Ayedaade, Isokan and Irewole Local Government Areas, with supporters trekking several kilometres in a show of solidarity ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Addressing journalists, the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting that the participation of youths reflects their readiness for political change in the state. He stated that the youths have shown commitment to support Oyebamiji, describing him as a candidate with clear plans for youth development, education and healthcare.
Adereti added that the level of mobilisation witnessed across different parts of the state indicates growing support for the APC, expressing confidence that the party would secure victory through the votes of the people.
According to him, “And I can tell you, with all sense of humility, that we are not dragging popularity. What is on the ground is a battle for change, change from poor governance to good governance. We are tired, and Osun people are tired of the present government. They are seriously tired and cannot even wait for this government to leave because they are not getting the dividends of democracy.
“Osun deserves a better government. So, we don’t rely on federal power or federal might to say we want to win an election. We are going to speak with our votes, and you will see the result. We are going to defeat the incumbent massively, with a very wide margin. I can assure you that in Ife, 90% of our votes are already for Bola Oyebamiji.
“The massive crowd that I have seen in Ikire today is going to cast 98% of their votes for Bola Oyebamiji. So it will be in Osogbo, because Osogbo is also tired of the boundary issues that the incumbent has been creating between Ede and Osogbo.
“I can assure you that, without any federal might, the people of Osun are going to speak in unison with one voice and cast their votes for our party, the party of peace, the party of progress, and the party that has the strategy to deliver Osun for progress.”
Speaking at the event, the organiser, Chief Peter Ogundeji, said the rally was organised to strengthen party unity, mobilise grassroots support and consolidate backing for the APC governorship candidate ahead of the election.
Ogundeji noted that participants walked over three kilometres, describing the turnout as a reflection of the acceptance of the party and its candidate.
He added that the exercise would further energised the party members coordinated efforts across the constituency to deliver victory for the APC in the forthcoming election.
Speaking with newsmen, Osun APC Youth Leader, Ibrahim Olagoke, said the rally was part of efforts to demonstrate the party’s strength and readiness at the grassroots level.
He noted that consultations and mobilisation activities have commenced across local governments, particularly targeting young voters to support the party’s candidate.
Also speaking, Osun West APC Youth Leader, Mojeed Adekunle, said the youth wing of the party is prepared for the election, expressing satisfaction with the choice of candidate.
He described Oyebamiji as a youth-friendly candidate and noted that the selection of a youthful running mate further strengthens the party’s appeal among young voters.
In his own remarks, APC Chairman in Irewole Local Government, Owoade Adegoke, said the turnout at the rally reflects the growing support for the party, adding that members are committed to securing victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
