The election to select new leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State, scheduled for Saturday, has not commenced as of 2:55 p.m.
The poll was fixed to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Osogbo, the designated venue.
Sources at the venue indicated that some political figures are making efforts to prevent the election from holding.
All chairmen of political parties in the state had earlier arrived at the INEC office. A logbook sighted showed that 18 out of the 19 announced IPAC members signed in around 10:00 a.m.
When our correspondent visited the venue, only three party chairmen were present.
Sources said the remaining chairmen had departed for another meeting.
Members of the IPAC Electoral Committee, who arrived in Osun State on Friday, were still absent from the venue as of 2:55 p.m
