A married woman has reported her husband’s alleged mistress to the Nigeria Police Force in Warri, Delta State, over claims that the woman threatened her life.
The incident came to public attention after a voice note, which has since gone viral on social media, sparked widespread reactions.
Human rights activist Israel Joe shared the audio recording online.
In the clip, the alleged mistress accused the wife of repeatedly calling her and demanding that she end her relationship with the woman’s husband, identified as Julius.
The woman also alleged that the wife was jealous of a hair salon Julius had reportedly established for her.
She boasted about her relationship with the businessman, claiming she offered him experiences his wife could not. She further argued that she never complained when Julius bought a car for his wife and questioned why the salon business had become an issue.
The audio ended with the woman revealing the area where she lives and challenging the wife to come and confront her.
Following the backlash generated by the recording, Israel Joe disclosed that the wife lodged a formal complaint at a police station, accusing the alleged mistress of threatening her life.
However, the matter did not proceed beyond the initial complaint.
In a later update, the activist said the police declined to pursue the case, describing the dispute as a civil matter rather than a criminal offence, and advised both parties to resolve their differences outside the criminal justice system.
