An Osun resident, Mrs Aramide Yetty, has called on the Inspector-General of Police and the Osun State Commissioner of Police to investigate the whereabouts of one of her neighbours after claiming repeated attempts to reach her over several days proved unsuccessful.
Aramide made the appeal in a video posted on her TikTok page while standing in front of the neighbour’s house located at Abere-Sise Estate, Ibu-Aje Street, Ilesha Garage area of Osogbo.
According to her, she had lived in the estate for more than six months and only knew the woman as a neighbour, saying they had never had any personal relationship.
She explained that the woman, who she said drives a blue Lexus, was usually seen taking her children to school and returning home.
Aramide said she became concerned after feeling compelled to check on the woman, adding that she had visited the house repeatedly over the past six days but received no response despite seeing vehicles parked inside the compound.
She alleged that during one of the visits about three days earlier, she heard a sound of doors banging from inside the house but nobody responded to her knocks.
According to her, another resident informed her that the woman was living at the back of the property, a claim she said left her confused as she believed the woman and her husband owned the house.
Aramide said she had no disagreement with the woman and was only concerned about her welfare, urging the police authorities to intervene and ascertain the whereabouts of the occupant of the house.
She maintained that her concern was simply to know what had happened to her neighbour.
She said “We need the attention of the Osun State Commissioner of Police and the Inspector-General of Police on this matter. Please, our we not lost. Please pay attention to Abere-Sise Estate, Ibu-Aje Street, Ilesha Garage, Osogbo.
“To my fans watching this live video, you can see this house. It belongs to my neighbour. My own house is on this same street, not more than seven houses away from this one. Since I moved to Abere-Sise Estate over six months ago, I have always seen the woman who lives in this house driving around the estate. I have never had a close conversation with her. She drives a blue Lexus and usually takes her children to school and brings them back home. We have no relationship; we only know ourselves as neighbours in this community.
“The reason I am making this video is that, for about six days now, I have felt led by God to check on this woman because she and her husband own this house. I have been knocking on the gate for days, but nobody has responded, even though the cars are still inside. I believe someone is at home. I cannot keep knocking on the gate without getting any response, and I am confused.
“I am appealing to the Commissioner of Police and the Inspector-General of Police to please intervene. About three days ago, while I was knocking on the gate, I heard the sound of doors banging inside the house. I later asked one of the neighbours, and he told me the woman was staying at the back of the house. I asked him why someone who owns a house would be living at the back.
“We have knocked on the gate several times, and I don’t think it is possible for the owner to be inside without responding. I am confused. I have no issues with her. I only want to know where the owner of the house is and whether she is safe.”
