The Forum Of United Imams and Khatheeb in Osun State has called on the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta Asiwaju Khamis Olatunde Badmus to support the association in its quest to strengthen its base for the promotion of Islam in the state and beyond.
The Forum led by its Deputy President Abdul Raheem Bushra made the call in Osogbo during a courtesy visit on Asiwaju Badmus
Sheik Abdul Raheem and other leaders of the Forum recalled that Asiwaju Badmus encouraged them to form the association about three decades ago, adding that some challenges have impeded the growth and progress of the association.
According to the leadership of the Forum, there is a need for the state government to give the association its deserved recognition in the scheme of things in Osun State
They expressed their desire and readiness to be guided by Asiwaju Tunde Badmus’ approach concerning the future administration of Osun State.
In his remarks, Asiwaju Badmus expressed happiness that the association he helped to form many years back is still in existence despite some setbacks.
He advised the members to remain united in the interest of peace , progress, and development of Muslims in Osun State.
Asiwaju Badmus said it is only when the members of the association are united that they will be able to regain their formidable position to get the recognition they seek from the government and the society.
In his words , ” You are our Imams with many faithful queuing behind you in every solat , there’s a need for you to remain united to fight the cause of Muslims.”
Asiwaju Badmus thereafter promised the Imams who came from all parts of Osun State to do his best to ensure that the state government assists them in their areas of interest in the future.
The Forum of Imams and Khatheeb in Osun State consists of Imams who lead Jumat prayers in the Mosques across the state.
