The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State, has announced the commencement of the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
According to a press release signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, On Monday, the exercise is for persons who registered during the just concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), applied for transfer of registration, replacement of lost or damaged PVCs, or updated their records.
Babalola stated that, to make the collection process more accessible and convenient, PVCs would first be distributed at the Registration Area level before the exercise moves to the INEC Local Government Area offices across the state.
She disclosed that PVC collection at the 332 Registration Areas across Osun State will hold from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily, including weekends.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner added that the exercise would continue at the INEC Local Government Area Offices from Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, August 7, 2026, also from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, including weekends.
Babalola advised all registered voters concerned to take advantage of the exercise and collect their PVCs within the stipulated period, stressing that the Permanent Voter Card remains the only valid document for accreditation and voting on election day.
She further disclosed that all uncollected PVCs from previous voter registration exercises would also be available for collection during the distribution period.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner reminded voters that PVC collection is strictly personal and that collection by proxy is not permitted under any circumstance, describing it as an offence.
Babalola reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, credible, inclusive and transparent governorship election in Osun State.
She encouraged members of the public to visit the nearest INEC Local Government Office or contact the Osun State INEC Office through its official communication channels for further enquiries.
