A Nigerian lady living in the United Kingdom has expressed deep frustration over her struggles abroad, describing her experience as one filled with hardship, discrimination, and emotional pain since relocating.
She explained that life in the UK has not been easy for her, as she has had to take on several difficult jobs just to survive while dealing with constant pressure and survival challenges.
“I don’t know why God punished me by making me a Nigerian. The worst thing that has happened to me is being Nigerian. Since moving to the UK, life has been extremely difficult.”
According to her, despite working multiple jobs including cleaning and care work, she still struggles to cope with daily life, adding that she has faced bullying, insults, and even physical mistreatment.
She also stated that returning to Nigeria is not an option for her due to insecurity and ongoing killings in the country, saying she feels stuck between two difficult realities.
“I’ve worked as a cleaner, a care worker, cleaned sh*t and taken on all sorts of jobs just to survive, yet life remains a struggle. I have been bullied, insulted, and even slapped. At the same time, I don’t feel safe returning to Nigeria because of the killings and insecurity.”
Her emotional outburst has sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathising with her struggles abroad while others criticised her harsh remarks about Nigeria.

Being a Nigerian is never a curse but an unnecessary relocation to UK without the needed skills to earn respectable wages was responsible for your woes. Please stop blackmailing my great country as being responsible for your unguarded ambition. I am a Nigerian and a proud one for that matter. We have more resources than many of your relocation destinations here in Nigeria and the insecurity challenges you cited as our problem is not peculiar but a global phenomenon.
