The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atinkteye Babatunde Akinteye, has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) against engaging in political confrontation with the Adeleke family, describing them as a family genuinely loved by the people.
Akinteye, in a statement shared on his social media page, said politicians should avoid picking fights with individuals who enjoy widespread public acceptance, noting that such personalities often command deep goodwill that cannot easily be erased.
According to him, the APC’s political experience in Osun State involving the Adeleke family serves as a reminder that political battles against widely loved figures could have long-term consequences.
The NANS President urged political leaders to see such individuals as partners rather than rivals, stressing that they could strengthen leadership when brought into the fold.
He also called for bridge-building, peaceful governance and inclusiveness instead of what he described as unnecessary political confrontation.
Akinteye added that everyone has a destiny, noting that whether such destiny is fulfilled ultimately depends on the individual.
He wrote,”In politics, never pick a fight with someone who is popular, genuinely loved by the people, accommodating, and generous. Such individuals often enjoy deep public goodwill that cannot be easily erased.
“The APC experience in Osun involving the Adeleke family is often cited as a reminder that political battles against widely loved figures can have long-lasting consequences.
“Rather than treating such people as rivals, see them as partners who can strengthen your leadership. Bring them closer, build bridges, and govern with peace and inclusiveness instead of unnecessary confrontation.
“Everyone has a destiny. Whether they fulfill it or not is ultimately up to them.May history be kind to us all.”
