A young woman identified as Blessing has reportedly died after slumping while singing on the altar during a church service in Minna, Niger State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 3, 2026, during a service attended by members of the congregation.
Her death was confirmed by a Facebook user, Samson Danlami, who described the development as shocking and painful.
Danlami stated that the deceased had actively participated in church activities earlier in the day, including teaching children before joining the choir to sing.
He noted that she suddenly collapsed while ministering and did not recover.
Another social media user, Zagni Jude Joshua, who identified himself as her cousin, also confirmed the incident, expressing deep grief over her passing.
He described Blessing as caring and supportive, recalling how she welcomed him warmly and constantly showed concern for his wellbeing.
Jude added that their last conversation centred on his music career, noting that she had encouraged him to remain committed to his calling.
He lamented that her absence would leave a significant void in the family, stating that life would not remain the same without her presence.
Zagni Jude Joshua wrote, “Writing this in so much pain! I can’t remember the last time I cried, but losing you broke something in me.
“Who will welcome me with those warm hugs when I come home? You would jump as though you hadn’t seen me in a million years.
“Who will make sure I’ve eaten or prepare water for my bath in the morning? You would always say, ‘Uncle Jude, I put water for you.’
“Who will be my number one fan, my loudest cheerleader? Our last conversation was about when I would put out another song, as you had missed listening to my songs.
“You said I carry so much grace and anointing for music, but I have abandoned my calling.
“The house won’t feel the same without you. Life won’t feel the same without you.I will miss you more than words can ever express, Blessing. I am still crying because I can’t even explain what this is!!
“I carry you with me in my heart, in my memories, in everything I do.
Rest well, my cousin sister.I love you, always and forever.”
As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of her death has not been officially disclosed.
