President Donald Trump on Saturday shared a video showing Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo conducting a mass burial for victims of an attack in Plateau State while appealing to the international community to intervene over the killing of Christians in Nigeria.
Trump reportedly posted the footage on his Truth Social platform without attaching any accompanying statement.
In the video, Dachomo, a cleric of the Church of Christ in Nations, was seen lamenting during the burial of victims allegedly killed in attacks targeting members of his church.
While addressing mourners at the burial site, the cleric pointed at bodies placed inside a mass grave and questioned the absence of Muslims among the victims.
Dachomo also appealed to the United Nations and the United States government to intervene over what he described as the killing and massacre of Christians in Nigeria.
Trump’s decision to repost the video came a day after joint United States and Nigerian forces reportedly killed ISIS second-in-command, Abu-Bilal al-Manuki, alongside several fighters during an airstrike operation.
The Trump administration reportedly described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to target terrorists accused of attacking Christians and threatening American interests globally.
Reacting to the operation, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated on X that American and Nigerian forces successfully tracked and eliminated the ISIS commander and his associates in Nigeria.
According to him, the operation demonstrated the effectiveness, patience, and capability of U.S. forces working alongside international partners to address security threats.
He further warned that the United States would continue to pursue terrorists and individuals involved in attacks against innocent Christians and Americans anywhere in the world.
The killing of al-Manuki reportedly came about five months after Trump ordered airstrikes against terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State on December 25, 2025, following sustained campaigns over alleged attacks on Christians in Nigeria.
Although the Nigerian government has consistently denied allegations of a Christian genocide in the country, authorities confirmed collaboration with U.S. forces in the operation that led to the killing of al-Manuki.
Trump had also redesignated Nigeria as a country of particular concern last year while warning of continued military actions against terrorists operating in Africa’s most populous nation.
