President Bola Tinubu has disclosed what he intends to focus on during the first two years of a possible second term if re-elected in the 2027 general elections.
Tinubu made the remarks while speaking at the Africa CEO Forum currently taking place in Rwanda.
According to the president, his administration would continue to work harder because more challenges still lie ahead.
Tinubu stated that the world would not wait for any country, stressing the need for continuous reforms, innovation, and strategic thinking.
The president explained that his philosophy of governance is built on the belief that transformative leadership requires the courage to make difficult decisions at the appropriate time for the benefit of the people.
He added that failure to take timely decisions could derail the path to national success.
Tinubu further stated that his administration took difficult decisions during its first term despite the pains and public backlash that followed.
According to him, he deliberately ignored criticisms and commentaries because he was convinced that the reforms being implemented were necessary for the country’s future.
The president admitted that the government faced intense pressure during the early stages of the reforms but maintained that the administration had now begun to see positive outcomes.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria’s economy was gradually stabilising, adding that the naira had become more stable and predictable.
Tinubu also noted that the improved economic situation now allows planners and investors to prepare budgets and organise their activities with greater certainty.
