The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured residents that he will not betray the trust reposed in him if elected into office.
Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Sunday during an engagement with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors in Osogbo.
He was represented at the event by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council.
The APC candidate stated that his recently unveiled seven-point agenda, themed “Prosperity,” would be fully implemented if he emerges victorious at the polls.
He explained that the blueprint was designed to address critical needs of the people and reposition the state for sustainable development.
According to him, the agenda prioritises poverty reduction, workers’ welfare, job creation, transparency, economic growth, security, education, and infrastructural development.
Oyebamiji assured the residents that his ambition is driven by a desire to serve diligently, pledging not to disappoint those who entrust him with their mandate.
He noted that the policy framework was carefully developed for implementation upon assumption of office and expressed confidence that it would drive meaningful growth across the state.
The APC flagbearer also promised to support artisans and small-scale businesses, acknowledging the vital role tailors play in the state’s economy.
He described members of the association as valuable contributors to economic development, adding that his administration would introduce programmes to strengthen small and medium enterprises.
Oyebamiji further urged residents to disregard criticisms from opposition parties, stating that the unveiling of his policy plans has unsettled his political rivals.
He expressed confidence that with the support of the people and divine guidance, his administration would reposition Osun State for progress.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the association, Rasheed Balogun, commended Oyebamiji for his commitment to service and passion for development.
Balogun noted that the group became familiar with the APC candidate during his tenure as Commissioner for Finance, adding that the association enjoyed recognition through the Office of Civic Engagement at the time.
He pledged the support of members of the association for Oyebamiji’s governorship ambition.
