Thousands of supporters on Thursday trooped out in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, for a walk-to-victory rally in support of the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The rally, which witnessed a massive turnout of party faithful and residents, was held across major towns in Boripe Local Government, including Iragbiji, Aagba, Ada, and Ororuwo.
Speaking during the rally, the Chairman of the Governing Board of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke, declared that Boripe Local Government would deliver victory for Governor Adeleke in the August 15 governorship election.
Adegoke said the rally was organised in line with the directive of Governor Adeleke for party faithful and Accord members across the state to hold walk-to-victory rallies in their respective local governments.
He stated that the turnout recorded in Boripe had sent a strong political message ahead of the election, insisting that residents had demonstrated their support for the governor’s second term ambition.
According to him, the people of Boripe have openly shown that they stand firmly behind Governor Adeleke and are ready to return him for another four-year term in office.
Adegoke expressed confidence that the governor would emerge victorious in the election, maintaining that Adeleke’s second term remained sacrosanct and non-negotiable among supporters in the area.
He said “We’ve spoken loud and clear that Governor Adeleke’s second term is sacrosanct. Come August 15, 2026, God will grant our governor victory to be re-elected as the Governor of Osun State for another good four-year term, and that is why we are saying, ‘Imole Lekan Si’. Boripe Local Government votes are for Governor Adeleke.”
Adegoke also urged eligible voters to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and advised those yet to collect theirs to do so before the election.
The Accord chieftain added that supporters were optimistic of celebrating Governor Adeleke’s re-election victory by 12 noon on August 15.
Also speaking, the Accord Party Chieftain in Boripe Local Government, Hon. Kunle Onikola , expressed surprise at the massive turnout recorded during the rally.
kunle said the crowd exceeded his expectations, noting that the large number of people who participated reflected the level of support Governor Adeleke enjoys in Boripe Local Government.
He stated that residents of the area were prepared to come out massively on election day to vote for the governor.
According to him, Governor Adeleke remains widely accepted in Boripe, particularly in Iragbiji, adding that the local government would surprise many people with its voting strength during the election.
The Executive Chairman of Boripe Local Government, Hon. Babalola Wasiu, was also present at the rally.
Other party chieftains in attendance included the Commissioner for Government Affairs and Protocol, Hon. Soji Ajeigbe, as well as former chairmen of the local government, Alhaji Kareem Afolabi and Hon. Kehinde Hassan Moronkeji.
Also present were notable leaders such as Alhaji Kateem Afolabi, Alhaji Hamzat Agbeleke (Awolu), Elder John Oyadeji, Barrister Abidoye, and Hon. Toba Alalade.
Other attendees included top government officials, political appointees, and party executives at the local government and ward levels.
