The palace of the Ooni of Ife has been thrown into celebration following the arrival of royal twins born to the Ooni, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and his wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola.
The joyous news was announced by the monarch on his official Facebook page on Friday, where he expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of the babies.
According to the Ooni:
“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again! Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of two princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today. We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health.”
The announcement has since sparked massive congratulatory messages from well-wishers, traditional rulers, dignitaries, and followers across Nigeria and beyond, as many celebrate the double blessing to the royal household.
The birth of the twins marks another significant moment in the royal family of Ile-Ife, regarded as the cradle of the Yoruba race.
