President Bola Tinubu has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for the outpouring of goodwill messages, prayers, and support as he marks his 74th birthday.
In a special message released on Sunday from the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu thanked citizens across the country for their patriotism and solidarity with his administration.
The president said he was filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation, appreciating Nigerians for their messages, show of love, and prayers on the occasion of his birthday.
He also acknowledged individuals and groups who placed congratulatory messages in newspapers and paid for airtime on radio and television to celebrate him.
Tinubu extended appreciation to his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind words, and to Vice President Kashim Shettima for his remarks.
He noted that, in line with his tradition, he chose to mark this year’s birthday in a low-key manner, considering the current mood of the nation.
The president reflected on the challenges faced since the commencement of his administration’s reforms, stating that the sacrifices made were beginning to yield results, despite temporary setbacks linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
He emphasised that the achievements recorded so far were a collective effort of Nigerians, rather than that of the government alone.
Tinubu expressed confidence that his administration would succeed in building a brighter future for citizens and generations to come as it approaches its third anniversary.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges and urged Nigerians to continue supporting government efforts to overcome them.
The president called for unity and collective action toward building a stronger, more prosperous, and resilient nation that would position Nigeria as the pride of Africa.
