Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, has expressed concern over the impact of rising fuel prices on his business operations, saying the situation has become increasingly difficult to manage.
Afolayan disclosed this in a video circulating on social media where he spoke about the financial burden of powering his businesses, particularly the KAP Film Village and Resort.
According to him, the facility spends about N11 million on diesel within four to five weeks despite having a solar power system installed to support electricity supply.
The filmmaker explained that the rising cost of diesel has made operations unsustainable, adding that the business sometimes purchases diesel on credit and settles the payment later when funds become available.
He noted that the price of diesel had increased significantly from about N995 or N1,000 per litre to over N1,500 per litre, a development he said has placed additional pressure on his businesses.
Afolayan added that he is seeking financial assistance in the form of a loan to upgrade the solar power system at the film village in order to reduce dependence on diesel and cut operational costs.
He said the sharp increase in diesel price has left him worried about sustaining operations at the facility, which hosts film production activities and other entertainment-related ventures.
