The Osun State Police Command has assured residents and visitors of adequate security arrangements ahead of the Eid-El Fitri celebration across the state.
In a statement issued by the Osun Police PRO, Abiodun Ojelabi, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, extended greetings to Muslim faithful as they conclude the holy month of Ramadan, while reaffirming the command’s readiness to safeguard lives and property.
The command stated that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful celebration before, during, and after the festivities.
According to the police, strategic deployment of personnel has been carried out to key locations, including mosques, prayer grounds, markets, and other public places across the state.
The command noted that the move is aimed at preventing any breach of peace and ensuring that residents celebrate in a safe environment.
Parents and guardians were urged to caution their wards against engaging in unlawful activities or gatherings that could disrupt public order.
Religious and community leaders were also encouraged to continue promoting messages of peace, unity, and lawful conduct among residents.
The police advised motorists and other road users to comply with traffic rules and regulations during the festive period to avoid accidents and ensure smooth movement.
Residents were also advised to remain vigilant and security conscious at all times, while reporting any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest police station.
