An abandoned baby boy was rescued alive in Mararaba Udege, Nasarawa State.
The infant was discovered dumped behind the Main Market on Friday, March 6, 2026.
The child was immediately taken to Mararaba Police Station and handed over to the local government authorities.
Police later transferred the baby to a woman identified as Miss Esther, who resides in Anguwan Durunwa, Mararaba Town, for temporary care while investigation continues.
Samai further stated that the Mararaba Udege Police Division had handed over the abandoned baby to Miss Esther in Anguwan Durunwa, Mararaba Town, without further investigation, despite concerns about her ability to provide adequate care.
