A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has demanded an immediate explanation from the management of Umaisha General Hospital over the whereabouts of medical equipment and comfort items he personally donated to the facility.
The lawmaker expressed his dissatisfaction during a recent oversight visit to the hospital, where he questioned staff over the disappearance of more than 50 ceiling fans, 40 standing fans and 50 orthopaedic mattresses he had previously supplied.
The confrontation gained attention after a video surfaced online showing the visibly angry politician demanding an account of the donated items from hospital officials.
According to the lawmaker, the items were purchased entirely with his personal funds to upgrade the facility, improve conditions for patients and support healthcare workers serving the local community.
He said he donated more than 50 ceiling fans, about 40 standing fans and 50 orthopaedic mattresses, and demanded to know their whereabouts.
The lawmaker also challenged the hospital official to identify the mattresses he had purchased, stressing that the items were donated for the benefit of his constituents.
He further demanded an explanation over the missing ceiling and standing fans, insisting that the hospital management should account for the items he supplied.
