The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Sunday Bisi, has reportedly been arrested by the police at his residence in Ilesa.
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, made the allegation in a post on X on Saturday, as voting commenced in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Davido alleged that police officers invaded Bisi’s residence at about 2 p.m. and arrested him over claims that he was moving around on election day.
He also accused the police of ignoring alleged harassment of voters by suspected All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs.
The allegation came amid heightened political tension in Osun State as voters headed to the polls to elect the next governor.
The 2026 Osun governorship election is being held on Saturday, August 15, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke seeking another term.
As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming Bisi’s reported arrest or explaining the circumstances surrounding the alleged detention.
