The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has predicted that Governor Ademola Adeleke and his supporters will be left disappointed after Saturday’s governorship election.
Oyetola, who contested against Adeleke in the 2022 governorship election, made the remark on Thursday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally in Osogbo, the state capital.
He urged residents to vote for the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, saying the party had demonstrated strong support across the state.
Oyetola described the APC rally as a day of joy and said the party’s supporters should ensure that Oyebamiji emerges victorious in the election.
He also criticised the decision of the opposition to cancel its final campaign rally, describing the move as an indication that the party lacked confidence in its political strength.
Oyetola urged voters who had attained voting age to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and take them to their respective polling units on Saturday.
He called on voters to identify the APC symbol, the broom, on the ballot and cast their votes for Oyebamiji.
The former governor expressed confidence that the APC would celebrate victory after the election, while Adeleke and his supporters would be left to mourn their defeat.
