The African Democratic Congress candidate in the August 15 governorship election in Osun, Najeem Salaam, has vowed to defeat Accord Party’s Ademola Adeleke and the All Progressives Congress’ Bola Oyebamiji in a free, fair and credible election.
In an interview on Channels TV on Monday, Salaam described Adeleke and Oyebamiji as his juniors in politics, insisting that he had more political experience than his two major rivals.
Salaam said that regardless of the political parties they belong to, he understood the political game better than the two candidates and believed they were also aware of his experience.
He expressed confidence that neither Adeleke nor Oyebamiji would defeat him if the election was conducted on a clean, level-playing ground, saying the outcome on Saturday would prove his claim.
Salaam noted that he had been moving around communities and local government areas to explain his political experience, vision and plans for governance to the people.
The politician’s statement came ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Osun on Saturday.
On Monday, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, during the grand finale of the party’s governorship campaign, urged voters to support the ADC candidate, saying the party had some of the best Nigerians and that voters would not regret supporting it in the governorship election.
